Here is a recap of my latest HDR experiments. It is by no means perfect and remains a work in progress.
The gallery is powered by the very exciting new Highslide script. To give it a try, just click on any thumbnail.
You can then navigate with your left and right cursor keys or the overlay that appears over an enlarged image when hovering the mouse.
More then one image can be opened at a time, and each image can be dragged, repositionned or closed. Have fun!

A fog bank rolls over Canada Place
Long exposure of the moonlit Seawall - Bracketing turned out to be impracticle because of the extremelly long exposures needed for the highlights without much results. So I ended up using only the correctly exposed shot to get my brackets in the RAW converter.

The old and the new - To the left, One Wall Center, tallest building in Vancouver at 150 m. It's a very slick looking glass tower, very narrow in one direction, that features roof-mounted water ballasts to damper the effect of wind gusts.
Lynn Creek
The lighthouse at Atkinson Point - Shot during a late afternoon cruise with Prince of Whales. The boat speed prevented me from bracketing and I used 3 exposures from a single RAW to strech the tonal range a little.
VanDusen Botanical Gardens
Balanced stones on the Seawall - Probably arranged there by local artist Kent Avery, the stones are not glued to each other and the sculptures are sometimes short-lived.
Exaggerated HDR on Bowen Island - This was done with a trial version of Photomatix. I made a much more conservative version of the image, but also played with extreme settings and somehow, this one became my favourite. It sits half way between a painting and a photograph and makes up for the lack of depth of field of the scene...
Street chess, Robson Street - I once again enjoy the slightly surreal effect of Photomatix that enhances textures and micro-contrast. The slow shutter speed blurred the moving objects and background, focusing the shot on the perfectly still and thoughtful players.
